Facetime & imeassage problems

Dear all

I only speak English (live in Germany) and need help to activate my imessage. I have tried eeeeeverything but it is still not working. Got a new apple ID but it seems like imessage only connects to my Swedish number. I have changed the number to my German one in my personal set-up, but on my iphone it is still only trying to connect to my Swedish number. Does anyone know what to do?? I have spent 6 hours on this already and got nowhere.
