Mische mich selten in iOS Themen ein, aber als ich das gelesen habe, musste ich direkt die Suchmaschine befragen.
Es gibt ein vages Gerücht, die älteren Geräte wären nicht verwundbar. Warum das so sein soll und etwaige handfeste Quellen dazu konnte ich nicht finden.
Gerade scheint es einfach am Unwillen von Apple zu liegen die älteren Geräte abzusichern, getreu dem Motto "Koof dir doch wat neues, dit ist jepatcht, wa!" 😉
Bisher dachte ich sie würden nur uns Pro-Usern aus der "alten" Apple Rechnerwelt vor den Kopf stoßen. Sollte das stimmen, so hätte ich mich getäuscht. Dann sind ihnen anscheinend auch langsam die Goldesel bzw. eiKunden mittlerweile egal, hauptsache der Aktienkurs steigt. Dann sage ich, willkommen im Club.
Oder hat jemand eine (fundierte) Begründung/Erklärung dafür gefunden?
Ich habe natürlich auch recherchiert, wollte aber mal auch die Meinung von denen hören, die sich direkt um die Quelle sammeln. Evtl. liest ja Apple ab und zu mit und klärt auf.

Also, WPA2 soll bei älteren Geräten anders implementiert worden sein, wie das auch immer gehen soll, und daher war und ist ein altes Gerät nicht betroffen und muss gar nicht aktualisiert werden, nur neuere Geräte, bei denen WPA2 korrekt implementiert ist.
Das hatte ich auch gelesen. Bin mir aber absolut nicht sicher wie sehr man sich auf diese Aussage verlassen kann. Konnte sie auch bisher nirgendwo verifizieren (z. B. als Aussage von anderen Sicherheitsleuten oder Fachpresse), daher gehe ich vorerst davon aus, dass es sich nur um halbgares Gelaber handelt.

An etwas muss der Patch-Unwille aber liegen, denn das iPhone 5s wurde ja mit iOS 11 versorgt. Jetzt kommt Apple vielleicht doch DER "glückliche" Umstand zugute.
Mein iPhone 5s läuft jedenfalls super, warum ein Neues?
Momentan ohne WLAN, und diese Sicherheitslücke wird sich zu einer Katastrophe entwickeln und Apple ist mit Schuld!
