Weird Streak on Apple Watch 7

Hello Community. I detected a streak on my Apple watch yesterday (after a few weeks of not wearing it). This is not on the display, cleaning with alcohol/ethanol did not bring any improvement. Likewise, there is no elevation found on the glass. However, the display itself works without problems and depending on the tilt angle, you can't even see the stripe. Does anyone know what this could be? (And in the best case how to fix it best)?

Hello!

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Community.

Streaks or marks that don't go away even after cleaning, and that don't seem to be scratches or cracks, can be a bit puzzling. Here are a few possibilities regarding what might be causing the streak on your Apple Watch:

If you've exposed your watch to water or high humidity, even though the Apple Watch Series 2 and later are water-resistant, moisture can sometimes find its way inside. This can cause condensation or a moisture streak under the display. Sometimes the adhesive used between the display and the body of the watch can produce streaks or blemishes. Over time, with temperature fluctuations and wear, this adhesive can sometimes cause visible anomalies. Even if the streak doesn't seem to be an external mark or residue, it's still possible that some chemical or element has interacted with the watch's surface in a way that's difficult to clean with standard methods.

Here are a few steps to consider if you want to address the issue:

If the streak continues to be a problem, it might be worth taking your watch to an Apple Store or authorized service provider for a professional evaluation. If it's a manufacturing defect and your watch is still under warranty, they might replace or repair it for free. If you believe it might be a residue issue, consider cleaning it with a different agent, like a mixture of water and mild dish soap. However, be very cautious and avoid letting any liquid seep into the openings of the watch. As a workaround, if the streak remains but isn't affecting functionality, consider applying a screen protector. Sometimes, a screen protector can help mask minor imperfections. If the streak bothers you a lot and affects your experience, and if the watch is out of warranty, you may want to explore repair or replacement options.

In any case, especially if your watch is still under warranty or covered by AppleCare, consult with Apple before trying anything that might void your warranty.
