iCloud Photos stuck for 2 weeks + weird malware warning when restarting sync
Hi everyone,
I’m having a really frustrating issue with iCloud Photos and I’m running out of time.
For about 2 weeks now, my downloads are completely stuck:
On my iPhone: stuck at 1049 items
On my MacBook: stuck at 1522 items
Nothing is progressing anymore on either device
If I delete some files, the number changes, but it still doesn’t continue downloading.
On my iPhone, I tried turning iCloud Photos off and on again, but when I do that I sometimes get a strange “malware / suspicious link” warning.
It looks like some kind of spam or phishing URL, and I can’t really interact with it – only view details.
On my MacBook, there is no warning, but the downloads are still stuck.
I’m currently in Thailand and already tried:
- different WiFi networks
- mobile data
- restarting devices
Nothing helped so far.
The main problem is:
I only have 4 days left to download these remaining files before they might be deleted, so I really need a solution urgently.
Has anyone experienced something like this?
How can I force iCloud to resume downloading?
Could that “malware warning” be causing the issue?
Is there any way to safely download all remaining items before I lose them?
Thanks a lot in advance 🙏
