iPhone 18 Pro panic reboot after "Try Face ID Again" PSD PANIC "timed out on PMGR"
Hi everyone,
My brand new iPhone 18 Pro (iOS 27.0, build 24A437) froze and rebooted on its own.
Steps:
- Opened an app protected with "Require Face ID".
- Face ID failed.
- Tapped "Try Face ID Again".
- The phone stopped responding to touch and rebooted to the lock screen a few seconds later.
A panic-full log was created. The panic string is:
PSD PANIC (0xdeadfeed) : PSD_PANIC_TYPE_FATAL : Assert ID: 0x22 ps:64 timed out on PMGR! : 14 Awake SBDs @AppleSoCErrorHandlerT8160.cpp:2260
Unlocking from the lock screen works normally, and there are no other issues so far.
Questions:
- Does anyone with the same Face ID reboot have the same panic string ("ps:64 timed out on PMGR")?
- Has anyone gotten a replacement, and did the new device still have the issue?
- Is this confirmed as an iOS 27 software bug?
Thanks
iPhone 18 Pro, iOS 27
