iphone/restore

I tried to update the IOS after getting this error message (Error message Support.apple.com/iphone/restore)instead of restoring it. No success. Same error message appears.

I read that i need to restore the iPhone, but will loose the settings and the content.

Regarding the content, does that mean that I will loose all the pictures I wanted to transfer on my PC?

Any other solutions to avoid loosing the pics (no backup on iCloud)
