Question : Turning on iTunes and App Store from my iPhone

I recently created a new Apple ID for myself, and have been trying to turn on iTunes and App Store from the Apple ID section of my settings. However, every time I try to do so, the screen loads, then a message pops up stating "Could not sign in: there was a problem connecting to the server". I have tried accessing iTunes and the App Store from my computer, as well as signing out of my Apple ID and signing back in. However, it still does not work. Is there any way for this to be fixed?

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.2.2
