For 2 days I have been getting warnings that my phone is infected with viruses and I better do something quick or lose all my data. The latest said it was because I visited an adult site which is nonsense. What do I do about this problem?

No, your device isn't infected with a virus, it's just that you're browsing sites that aren't very reputable, such as illegal streaming sites, illegal gambling sites, etc., and these scoundrels accept all kinds of misleading and deceptive advertising.
Even if you see a message on a website that uses Apple's graphic codes, don't click on it and leave the website, it's a scam and it’s common on these websites.
