Safari History displays incorrect website icons (favicons)

On my iPhone 16e running iOS 26.5.2, Safari’s browsing history frequently displays incorrect website icons (favicons) next to previously visited websites.

The website name and URL shown in the History list are correct, but the associated favicon belongs to a different website. For example, a History entry for Google may display the icon of another site that I visited.

This appears to be a visual issue affecting the History list only. Selecting the History entry still opens the correct website.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Browse multiple websites in Safari.
  2. Open Safari History.
  3. Observe the icons displayed next to the History entries.

Expected Result:

Each History entry should display the correct favicon for the corresponding website.

Actual Result:

Some History entries display the favicon from a different website, even though the website name and URL are correct.

Frequency:

Occurs everyday.

How can I address this issue and are there ways fixing it?
