iPod Classic 160Gb: posso inicializar o disco?

My iPod Classic 160Gb (2009) is not recognized by iTunes. The computer (os X) displays a dialog box message: "The inserted disc was not read by this computer" Should I initialize it? Even if you lose music data, will the iPod OPERATING SYSTEM continue to work?I spent some time (months) without using it, but before that it was ok.Now this is what happened when connecting iPod to Macbook Pro via USB:• iPod's display shows: "Do not disconnect" message.• The computer (os X) displays a dialog box message: "The inserted disc was not read by this computer"There's three options offered in the osX system dialog box are: "Initialize | Ignore | Eject"• After some time or display the iPod displays "ok to disconnect". But never visible through iTunes.• The iPod control wheel button on / off command don't work.I tried to see the iPod ithrough System Tools' Disk Utility but the iPod volume is not recognized or visible.However, in the System Information tree on "About This Mac" there is no USB Hub. And as I said there is that dialog box message (picture)So the iPod is somehow "alive", but has no means to reach it. How to recover it?

Meu iPod Classic 160Gb (2009) não é reconhecido pelo iTunes. Devo inicializá-lo? Mesmo perdendo os dados de música, o SISTEMA OPERACIONAL do iPod continuará funcionando?

Passei algum tempo (meses) sem usá-lo, mas estava ok.

Ao conectá-lo ao Macbook Pro via USB:
• No display do iPod aparece a msg "Do not disconnect".
• O computador (os X) exibe a mensagem: "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"
As opcões oferecidas na dialog box do sistema osX são: "Initialize | Ignore | Eject"
• Depois de algum tempo o display do iPod exibe "ok to disconnect".

• o comando on/off no botão da roda de controle do iPod não funciona.

Tentei vê-lo no Disk Utility do System Tools mas o volume do iPod não é reconhecido ou visível.
Porém, na árvore de Informações do Sistema (ou Relatório do Sistema) do "About This Mac" ele aparece no USB Hub.

Ele está "vivo", mas sem meios de alcancá-lo. Como recuperá-lo?
