Negative Change that occurred since iOS11

Dearest,

After I updated to iOS11, I perceived a change in an important function in Safari. I am not given anymore the option of downloading documents (.doc or .pdf for example), just the .epub. I would like to know if there is something I can do about it? If yes, what? If not, why did this option been taken of?
