Seems this was a question back in 2008 and it appears Apple still hasn't offered that solution or option. Or, have they? Can a specialist at Apple offer an answer and solution? Lately, I am getting a barrage of spam phone calls and don't want to keep checking my phone every time it rings to see who is calling.

Unfortunately, it is still not possible to assign a ringtone or text tone to an entire group. The only option is to set the ringtones individually for your contacts.
I wonder if it's time Apple gets another Feature Request on that function:
