You can not remove. While all of us may not need it there are clearly users that do need it (just as there are users that don’t need the options to add a URL, Instant Message, Social Profile, etc. but all of those options are available for those that do need them). Just like those fields are not removable neither is the pronoun one.
Do you realize you responded to the Author who hasn't been back to this thread since January 3rd. This thread was likely responded to by someone who's post was just removed, which unfortunately brings the thread back to the top.
You simply cannot remove it, you are totally free to not use it.
Why do we need titles? Or birthdays? Or addresses?…
They’re optional. No one is forcing you to use that field.
It's the same as Emojis, you may not need or want them, but you still cannot delete them. If you do not use them when you add a contact, you won't see it after the contact is created. Not a big deal.
Get this pronoun off my Contacts list. I do not want it. I refuse to participate in it.
How dare you force this on us.

It is a big deal. Allow us to remove it. It is not at all like emojis.
You’re not talking to Apple. We can’t change it. If you’re that unhappy about it, i suggest you find a product made by a company that shares your particular prejudices.
We didn’t force anything on you. We are not Apple. Apple is’t forcing anything on you either. There is no rule that says you must use those fields.
