Just got the Mac equivalent of an old muscle car but cant run it

I just bought a used late 2013 iMAC that is loaded with 32G RAM and SSD. Speed is great, but I can't install LogicX or run iMovie on it. Knew I'd be taking a chance, but is there any way to run those apps.? It looks like Catalina is the last OS available on this model. It doesn't make sense. I still have a 2010 Powerbook that runs Garage Band.

Have you ever purchased Logic Pro X in the past?

When you say " or run iMovie on it", is it on the 2013 iMac or you can't download it onto the iMac?

Any apps that appear on your Purchased page of the App Store on your 2010 Powerbook can be downloaded onto your 2013 iMac when using the same Apple ID that was used to " purchase " them. You will be offered the latest version that is compatible with your OS.

If these 2 apps do appear on your purchased page then best to upgrade the OS first.
