Look at the diagram. You can specify the font by selecting individual text.

English: Arial

Japanese: Yu Minchotai

Apologies. My mistake. I was thinking of captions not subtitles. You change the font of specific words in a title, select the text in the title that you want to change.

I don't have any Chinese fonts I'm afraid.

I don't have Chinese fonts, so I tried with Japanese and English fonts. I think it will probably go well.

You can change fonts for titles but not for subtitles. They're constrained by very specific broadcast guidelines, color size, font, position.

With these fonts does it matter which is the primary, LocaAlicia, whether it’s English or Japanese first?

Font priority? .... I have never felt that there is a priority for mixed fonts. I entered them in order from the top.

Yes, type out in one language, then select specific words, and apply that font to it. I do this with Cherokee and English on occasion. Pretty easy.
