Safari expose (tab overview) title search is very slow, anyway to fix it?

I'm on Safari 17.4.1, on latest Sonoma

When you have tons of tabs opened like 50+, esp with tons of youtube tabs in the mix, the tab search hangs the browser.

I don't understand, this is just searching by title right? why is this slow to begin with? What is safari doing that requires recomputation of whatever everytime I enter one keystroke?

If my guess is right, it is the thumbnails.
