A friend has given me their apple wallet so I wish to initialise it for use on my iPhone. Problem is the reason they are giving it to me is that they no longer own an iPhone. Therefore they are unable to delete the wallet from ‘find my’ to enable me to initialise it on my phone.
Does anyone know how this could be done please?

Your friend will need to log into his Apple ID on an Apple device, like an iPhone, and open the Find My app. Once the app opens, tap <items> at bottom of screen, pull up tab from bottom of screen, scroll down and tap remove item.

Are you referring to the leather wallet that attaches via MagSafe to the back of the iPhone?
