Despite not backing up Apps or Photos, Backup is 49GB!

I've been troubleshooting this for weeks. I don't back up my photos and very minimal apps (see below), nor do I back up email or texts/iMessages, and I have no iCloud documents. I just want to back up the minimal functions to restore my phone in case of emergency. But the back up is over 50GB! Please, tell me I don't have to pay extra to backup just the phone and no apps or photos.

Note: I also tried backing up my phone to my computer. After 3+ hours, right when it appeared to be complete, I got this error alert. This is just absurd.

Lol of course I investigated that, but no, this is the only device backed up, and the one backup.

This morning I deleted the enormous backup and am unable to back up the phone, given that the next backup is over 50GB. Again, just absurd given that I have nothing outside of core phone functions to back up. No photos, documents, texts, apps...

And sorry, didn't mean to sound snarky. Just been deep-diving this for several weeks and all other avenues--forums, youtube, sites, etc--and have investigated every suggestion I've read or watched and nothing has helped. The enormous backup remains a mystery.
