Why is my right AirPod listed as my left in FindMy?

i have lost my right airpod, however it is coming up as my left airpod in the find my app. it also has not updated it since about 3pm yesterday when i know i was using it at 5pm after work. I think ive dropped it shortly after that. i have seen other posts suggesting to reconnect airpods if theyre location isnt updating but im worried ill lose connection to the lost one incase it is found as it hasnt moved yet. the actual left one (under right airpod in the app) is currently being used and still says not seen for 10hrs
