How to fix freezing issues on my MacBook Air

Ever since i got my macbook air its been freezing randomly, i wont be able to press my keyboard and the touch pad turns stiff and i constantly have to turn it of and turn it back on and sometimes it still wont work. What can i do ? Is this normal ?
