How can I fix my Apple Pencil 2nd Gen tip that is too loose despite tightening?

I fully tightened the tip by there still is a decent gap between the tip and the pencil (larger gap than there should be) and my pencil only works when i press really hard on it or sometimes just doesn't write at all. I bought a new tip, but it still is happening. Is this repairable or should I buy a new pencil?
