The previous posting supplies all the details of which computers Qualify for the upGrade to Ventura .

Taking your last question literally " Do I want to ? "

That may depending on the Hardware in this computer >> iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) - Technical Specifications

Is see some configurations with Fusion Drives

Is this computer configured with a Fusion Drive or with an ALL SSD Drive ?

If Fusion Drive the computer will still function but perhaps not as well at you expected to work

Fusion Drives were going in its day for inexpensive extra storage combined with a more speedy SSD drive

The Combination of a Traditional Rotational Drive, even the 7200 RPM drive, will be slower than an ALL SSD Configuration

Otherwise, make sure the computer has at least 50 GB of empty space on the drive.

It will allow the Full Version ( about 12.xx GB ) to download, then expand and then commence to install.

If there is Third Party Security Software installed - remove it.

It will interfere with both the download and installation process.

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before doing any upDates / upGrades
