Frage: OS X Mavericks auf Mac Mini installieren

MacMini Server Mitte 2009

Hi,

ich versuche einen MacMini Server von Null auf neu zum Leben zu erwecken, weil beide internen Festplatten defekt sind.

Nun habe ich 2 Samsung 850EVO (1TB) eingebaut und den Arbeitsspeicher auf 8GB erhöht.

Wie bekomme ich nun Mavericks drauf?

Ich habe Mavericks einst gekauft, habe die Installationsdatei im Programmeordner meines MacBooks parat, habe eine Startdisk (USB - Stick) erstellt. Trotzdem bekomme ich das Ganze niht zum Laufen. Nicht mit Start des Macs + cmd + r oder shift. Immer erhalte ich einen grauen Bildschirm oder diesen mit blinkendem Ordner mit Fragezeichen drin, nachdem der AppleStartton erklang. Einzig mit Start - alt komme ich in das WLAN - Auswahlmenü, in welchem ich ein Netz auswähle und das Passwort eingebe. Danach passiert nichts.

Brauche ich womöglich erstmal die Original ServerSoftware, weil es ja ein Macmini Server ist? Seine Zeit als Server ist vorbei - nun brauche ich ihn zu Hause für einfachere Aufgaben ...

Wenn du den Stick ordentlich konfiguriert hast, musst du “alt” beim Start gedrückt halten. Dann müsste die Auswahl der startvolumes erscheinen, falls dies nicht passiert ist das installmedium falsch konfiguriert.

"Server" ist nur ein Begriff der dort von Apple verwendet wird – eigentlich meinen sie damit "Etwas besser ausgestatteter Mini", aber Server ist kürzer 😝

Ein spezielles Server Betriebssystem bietet Apple seit 10.6 nicht mehr an, sondern nur diese bes******ne App.

Danke, der Stick war tatsächlich falsch oder unvollständig formatiert.

Nun komme ich etwas weiter: Die Installation wird vorbereitet bis 1 Sekunde vor dem Ende, zumindest wird das angezeigt, dann kommt folgende Fehlermeldung:

''Beim Vorbereiten der Installation ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Versuchen Sie das Programm erneut durchzuführen''.

Was ist nun mein Problem?

Beide SSD's sind mit Mac OS Extended (Journaled) formatiert. Soll ich da ein anderes Format wählen?

Kann im Festplattendienstprogramm nicht auf 'Protokoll' klicken und kann auch sonst keinen Installationslog finden.

Es wurde schließlich nichts installiert, denn das System bricht am Ende der Installationsvorbereitung, also noch vor der Installation, ab.

Gibt es weitere Ideen?

Wenn mich nicht alles täuscht müsste die festplatte nach der fehlgeschlagenen Installation nicht leer sein. Wenn du die mit einem anderen Computer mountest (zb über Target Mode) müssten dort die log Dateien irgendwo abgelegt sein. Unter Umständen auch versteckt. Dann musst du die erst übers Terminal oder mit Programmen wie zb tinkertools sichtbar machen. Ansonsten schau doch mal, wie du die Festplatte formatiert hast. Da solltest du kein Master Boot Record verwenden, sondern guid partitionstabelle.

Nächste Option falls garnichts geht...: anderes Betriebssystem installieren.

El Capitan, sierra oder high Sierra. Mavericks war irgendwie nicht mein Favorit und lief meiner Meinung nach schlechter als die folgeversionen.

Habe über den Target Mode nichts finden können. Auf der Festplatte sind lediglich 600Byte beschrieben.

Da sind nur folgende Dateien / Ordner drauf zu finden:

Formatiert sind die Festplatten mir Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Master Boot Record ist MSDos - Dingens, oder?

Ich werde es wohl mal mit Yosemite probieren ..

Ich weiß, es muss frustrierend sein, so lange dafür zu brauchen, aber ich denke wir bekommen das schon irgendwie hin.


1. hast du Schonmal den nvram resetted. Eine Fehlermeldung deutet ganz unter Umständen drauf hin. (Cmd - alt - p - r beim Start)


2. formatierst du deine ssd direkt aus dem installationssstick? Wenn nicht mache das mal. Du kannst zu fast jedem Zeitpunkt im installer ins festplattendienstprogramm wechseln.


3. hast du einen anderen Computer, der läuft? Probiere bitte einmal dort den Mavericks installer laufen zu lassen und als Volume für die Installation deinen im Target Modus angeschlossenen Mac mini zu verwenden.


4. Erstellst du den Stick per Terminal über createinstallmedia oder hast du dafür ein Programm?


5. wenn du einen anderen Rechner hast der läuft. Verbinde mal beide Computer und starte deinen laufenden Computer im Target Modus, dann den Mac mini starten und alt drücken, sodass du in das System des anderen Computers mit deinem Mac mini Booten kannst. Und dann mal von dort aus versuchen auf der ssd vom Mac mini zu installieren.
