welt.de on iPhone 7 drains battery with 100% CPU usage

When browsing on welt.de with Safari on iPhone 7 (iOS 13.3) the CPU/GPU near the camera gets very hot and battery goes down extremely quickly (1% every ~10 seconds).

Issue is reproducible on other iPhone 7 devices.

I suspect 100% CPU usage due to some scripts or whatever is running on this popular news page.

Please can a Safari developer check what is going on there?
