The events are available on an external hard drive in folders (with name/description of the event). How can I import the photos into my Photo System library with event name / label?

Your iPhoto Events should have been migrated as albums in a folder "iPhoto Events", named like the events.
If iPhoto has been referencing the original image files as folders, the images should have been migrated as referenced images. This working very well for me.
Perhaps there is a problem with your external volume with the event folders.
What is the format of the photos on the external volume? Are the photos JPEGs or in a different format?

The photos are in JPEG, CR2 (Canon) format.
The volume was not used for Time Machine backups
The volume is directly plugged in.
It seems to be my oldest photos that were organized in folders.
I guess the photos and events are disconnected from the Foto System Library. Do you know a good way to import the Folders/Photos into the System Library?
