iPad Pro 2020: general writing issue with this iPad model
Like many other people, I have been struggling with an issue that causes random lines all over the screen when writing with the Apple Pencil 2. Personally, I am using the iPad Pro 11" (2020) and I have noticed, that people with the same problem always happen to use an iPad Pro 2020 too (both 12.9" and 11").
For the record, this is the problem I am talking about.
I have just tried to reproduce it, the one on the photo is one of the less terrible ones. After using the iPad for some time, for example in class, the problem becomes exponentially worse and happens after almost every letter.
Believe me, I have tried literally everything, since this problem has been occuring ever since I got this device…
Here are some examples that I can think of right now:
- replacing Apple Pencil
- removing screen protector
- replacing and removing case
- using iPad while NOT charging
- restarting iPad
- cleaning the screen
- laying flat on wooden surface with no other devices nearby
- contacting Apple support
- … and many more
here is the solution that works
Touching the metal frame of the iPad while writing.
This is what I have been doing for months and it works. When other people use my iPad and they obviously did not touch the metal frame, this glitch still occured, which is causing an embarassing situation every time… Seeing literally everybody else being able to write normally on their device has been so frustrating. I just want that issue gone.
Now finally to my observations: this problem is obiously caused by some ESD/grounding issue and I am really convinced that it isn‘t just a problem with certain iPads but more a problem of the iPad Pro 2020 model as a whole.
Reading dozens of articles written by people with the exact same problem and getting recommended the exact same solution approaches over and over again, I found out that almost all of them are using the iPad Pro 2020 model.
I don‘t know what to do anymore, I just wish I would get reasonable answers and maybe even a real working solution.
