AirPods Pro do not disconnect upon charging

Feels like whenever Apple feels like it, they roll out updates that break stuff.


I have the AirPods Pro, and while I have some little problems with them, I am overall happy with them.


However, recently I noticed that the "seamless switchover" did not properly work anymore, taking minutes for the MacBook Pro (M1) to connect. In recent days now, on top of that, they do not disconnect once I put them back into the case - even when I put the whole case on charge as well - which is really is annoying and basically nullifies any advantage this feature might bring with it.


A brief look upon battery status of devices even shows the charging icon on BOTH AirPods plus the case - and if you crank up the volume, you indeed, hear the beats from the case.


I might refrain from ever updating, since I only experience more and more problems.

Hi, thanks for the reply and sorry for my late response.


I tried several things, including the instructions you liked.

This introduced more problems tho. The airpods still occasionally do not stop audio after placing them in the case, like on a weekly basis.

What came as new since the reset; Upon putting the airpods out of their case, the Mac will connect, play audio for a few seconds - then it becomes silent, the airpods still show as connected.

While being connected, switching manually to a different output device and back to the pods does nothing.


For now I removed the pods from all other Devices but the Mac, which seemed to have fixed most of the issues.

Gradually, I'll add other devices back.
