Volume of iPhone gets automatically lower

When playing music out loud on my phone I tend to skip songs from time to time. But every time I pick up my phone the volume gets automatically lowered. It took me some research to understand that this may be caused by "attention awareness" but even after turning every possible setting regarding that off, my phone is still deciding to lower the volume for me.

This behaviour is implicit and very annoying. Also where is the information about this behaviour? You could have ask the user on their first "attention awareness interaction" for consent, clearly state functionality & avoid annoyed users.

Also I want to state out that the most annoying thing about that "feature" is that the automatic adjustment is not synced with the volume control. This means you can't turn the volume back up anymore because the "attention awareness" is setting an uncontrollable limiter (you can only lower further). To resolve this issue I always have to restart the app where the sound is coming from (in my case Apple Music).

I beg you to remove this limiter and just lower the current volume so I am at least able to turn it up without restarting apps. And fix the setting for that case when turning "attention awareness" off.

Thanks.

Hi johnny99,

I understand that you're facing an issue with the volume automatically lowering on your iPhone, even after turning off the "attention awareness" feature. This behavior can indeed be frustrating. Here are some suggestions you can try to address this issue:

1.Restart your iPhone:

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve unexpected behavior. Restart your iPhone and check if the issue persists.

2.Check App-Specific Settings:

Some apps may have their own settings related to volume control or attention awareness. Check the settings within the specific app you're using to see if there are any relevant options.

3.Update iOS:

Ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Software updates often include bug fixes and improvements.

4.Reset All Settings:

If the issue continues, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This won't delete your data but will reset system settings. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" > "Reset All Settings."

5.Restore from Backup:

If none of the above solutions work, you might consider restoring your iPhone from a backup. This should be done carefully to avoid data loss.

Regarding your feedback on the attention awareness feature, unfortunately, some iOS features are designed to function automatically without user prompts. However, your feedback is valuable, and you can submit it directly to Apple through the Feedback app on your iPhone.

To submit feedback:

  • Open the "Feedback" app on your iPhone.
  • Describe the issue and your suggestions for improvement.
  • Submit your feedback to Apple.

Remember that Apple periodically releases iOS updates, and user feedback often contributes to improvements and changes in subsequent updates.

If the problem persists, and the suggestions above don't resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact Apple Support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on the details of your situation.

Good luck!

Greetings
