USB short-circuit protection on MacBook Pro mid 2015?
Hello, I am doing a course at university this semester that requires me to work with circuits and micro-controllers. The tutors said that if we have a short circuit, chances are that either the motherboard (or logic board) or USB port will be destroyed, unless the laptop has a built-in short-circuit protection on the USB ports.
I guess nowadays all laptop's have such a short-circuit protection on their USB ports, but how about a MacBook Pro 15 inch from mid 2015 (my old macbook)? I really don't want to use my brand new M3 MacBook, understandably.
Hence I have 3 questions:
Question 1: is there some documentation or statement that says that the MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2015 has a short circuit protection on its USB ports?
Question 2: do you have some personal experience with using MacBooks for micro-controller and electronics work? If so, do you have any suggestions or tips for me?
Question 3: Or do you just use some "cheap" Windows / Linux laptop for such type of work and if so which one can you recommend?
