MacBook Air 15" (2023) display resolution different in screenshots
Hello.
Please tell me, where I'm stupid here. :-) My MacBook Air 15" (2023) has a display resolution of 2880 x 1864 px, right?! When I take a screenshot and paste it into a program, the resolution is 3420 x 2214 px. Huh?!
Is this because of the scaling? My scaling is set to "standard", whatever 1710 x 1107 means, I don't get it. So, does this mean that the display I look at is always interpolated and never native? 2880 x 1864 px is the native resolution, but it's scaled to 3420 x 2214 to look ... smaller?
Pretty confusing. For example, I can't take screenshots to check pixel perfect alignments on websites. I know the distance between two objects is 200 px but the distance shown in the screenshot is 400 px (I know it IS correct on the website). Strangely enough, the screenshot-tool on macOS shows the correct 200 px in the preview.
Thanks.
Best regards
Robert
