What is the best choice between an Ipad Classic and an Ipad Air for a Student?

I am planning to buy an Ipad for my son who will be starting the first year of business school next September. I was thinking to offer him the Ipad classic 64MB but I am triggered by the option of Ipad Air, which is Around 200€ more expensive. is the main difference in price between the 2 mainly justified by the photo/video options? thank you very much
