Is Apple Music using mobile data/wi-fi even when listening to downloaded tracks ?

Hello, I have a question regarding Apple music using mobile data.

I recently switched to Apple Music for a better sound quality.

However, listening to songs with high quality settings (Lossless ALAC) is extremely data consuming (Music alone used more than 1Gb of cellular data today just for music playing - no downloading or anything else).

So, I thought that I would download the songs so I wouldn't have to burn my mobile data when listening to music.

Though, I would like to know if Music is using data even when I've downloaded the track that I am listening to ?

For exemple : if I listen to music while scrolling on Twitter or Instagram, will Music use mobile data to play the songs although I downloaded them (thus greatly increasing my data consumption) ?
