Get a new Logic Pro X licence for older mac

Hi,

I've been considering buying a Logic Pro X licence, but my Mac is a bit old, it runs on OS 10.14.6 and I can't update it further. So the current version of Logic is not compatible with my system.

However, I was told that if I buy the licence through the App Store, while logged on a recent Mac and install it on it, I should be able to retrieve my licence on my App Store account also on my older Mac and download the latest compatible version of Logic then.

Does anyone know if that actually works? It sounds like it could, but I was not able to get a clear answer about that, either online or from Apple support.
