iPhone 11 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues after recent iOS update (Brazil)

Hello,

I am from Brazil and I am experiencing several connectivity issues on my iPhone 11 after the most recent iOS update.

The problems started immediately after updating the device. Before the update, everything was working normally.

Current issues:

  • Bluetooth disconnects randomly very often;
  • Bluetooth earphones disconnect when opening apps or recording audio on WhatsApp;
  • Wi-Fi became slow and unstable;
  • The iPhone takes a long time to detect nearby Wi-Fi networks;
  • Sometimes no networks appear at first, even when I am very close to the router;
  • Nearby neighbor networks barely appear anymore;
  • General instability when opening applications.

I already tried:

  • Resetting Network Settings;
  • Forgetting and reconnecting Bluetooth devices;
  • Turning Airplane Mode on and off;
  • Testing the device very close to the router.

The problems still continue.

I would like to know if other iPhone 11 users are experiencing similar issues after the latest iOS update and if there is any known solution or upcoming fix.

Thank you.

Hello, naoquerofalarnome66!

Welcome to the Apple Support Community! Here we are users helping other users by sharing solutions and experiences.

📌 Just one note:

You can continue here if Portuguese is okay for you, but if you prefer support in English, you may get better visibility in the English community:

About the issue itself, since the problem started right after the iOS update and affects both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, I would look at this as a general connectivity/system issue, not only a Bluetooth accessory problem.

⚠️ The fact that you already tried:

  • resetting network settings
  • forgetting and reconnecting Bluetooth devices
  • Airplane Mode on/off
  • testing close to the router

and the issue still continues makes it worth going one step further.

📌 I would try these next steps:

  • restart the iPhone again after the network reset
  • restart the router
  • test another Wi-Fi network
  • test Bluetooth with another accessory
  • remove VPN/security profiles if any are installed
  • check if the iPhone has enough free storage
  • 🔄 check if there is a newer iOS update available
  • 🔄 update the apps involved, especially WhatsApp

📌 Also check: Settings > General > VPN & Device Management

If there is any VPN, profile, corporate configuration, security app, or DNS filter installed, it could interfere with Wi-Fi or network behavior.

⚠️ Since you mentioned WhatsApp audio and Bluetooth earphones disconnecting, it is also possible that part of the issue is being triggered by the app when it accesses microphone/audio routing.

So I would test:

  • Bluetooth audio with Music/YouTube
  • Bluetooth audio during a normal phone call
  • Bluetooth audio inside WhatsApp

That helps separate whether the issue is system-wide or worse inside WhatsApp.

📌 If Wi-Fi networks take too long to appear or nearby networks no longer show up properly, also test whether the issue happens on different routers/locations.

If it happens everywhere, the chance of an iPhone-side issue becomes stronger.

⚠️ If nothing changes, the next useful test would be:

  • make a backup
  • erase the iPhone
  • set it up temporarily as new
  • do not restore the backup immediately
  • test Wi-Fi and Bluetooth clean for a while

This helps determine whether the problem is coming from:

  • iOS itself
  • something restored from the backup
  • an app/configuration conflict
  • or a possible hardware issue

⚠️ Important:

only erase the iPhone after confirming your backup and important data are safe.

📌 If the issue continues even with the iPhone set up as new, then it would make sense to contact Apple Support or have the device checked, because persistent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth instability across different networks/accessories may require technical evaluation.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Felipe Lapolli

📶 About Wi-Fi and Bluetooth instability on iPhone 11 after the latest iOS update

We understand your concern. Since the issues started immediately after the update and affect both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, this behavior may be related to software-level communication services or post-update indexing/synchronization.

The fact that multiple wireless functions became unstable at the same time is important and helps narrow down the troubleshooting.

🔍 What your symptoms may indicate

Based on your description:

Random Bluetooth disconnections

Slow Wi-Fi scanning

Delayed network detection

Instability when apps access audio or wireless resources

can indicate:

Temporary post-update system instability

Corrupted network configuration after update

Background reindexing processes affecting wireless performance

Or, in some cases, a firmware-related bug introduced in the current iOS version

📲 Additional steps recommended

Since you already reset Network Settings, we recommend:

Restarting the iPhone completely again 🔁

Disabling VPNs or security apps temporarily

Testing Wi-Fi on another network/router

Testing Bluetooth with different accessories

⚙️ Important system checks

Go to:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network

Make sure important apps still have permission enabled.

Also check:

Settings → Battery

to see if there is unusual background activity after the update.

🛠️ Advanced step that may help

Create a full backup and reinstall iOS using a computer (Finder or iTunes).

This reinstalls the system files cleanly and can resolve update-related corruption.

Official Apple guide:

Restore your iPhone using a computer

⚠️ About known update-related behavior

After major iOS updates, some users may temporarily experience:

Battery drain

Thermal activity

Wireless instability

Background indexing slowdowns

These behaviors can improve after a few days or through future software updates.

📡 About the Wi-Fi scanning issue specifically

If nearby networks are barely appearing anymore, even close to the router, it may indicate:

Wireless driver instability after update

Or a hardware-level Wi-Fi/Bluetooth communication issue

Since Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share internal hardware components on iPhone, simultaneous failures can sometimes point to the same subsystem.

📌 Recommended next step

If the issues continue after reinstalling iOS or after the next iOS update, we recommend contacting Apple Support or visiting an authorized service provider for diagnostics.
