🔐 About protecting your Apple account and devices from unauthorized access

We understand your concern, especially if you believe someone is actively trying to access your data.

The most important step right now is to secure both your Apple ID and your trusted devices as quickly as possible.

📲 Immediately change your Apple ID password

Use a strong and unique password that you do not use anywhere else.

You can change it here:

Manage your Apple ID

🛡️ Make sure Two-Factor Authentication is enabled

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security and prevents someone from accessing your account with only the password.

Official Apple guide:

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID

🔍 Review trusted devices

On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac:

Settings → Your Name → Devices

Remove any device you do not recognize immediately ❌

📧 Check for unknown email forwarding or recovery changes

Verify:

Trusted phone numbers

Recovery email addresses

Payment methods

Security notifications from Apple

If anything looks unfamiliar, remove or update it.

☁️ Secure your important files

If you believe someone still has access:

Disconnect from suspicious Wi-Fi networks

Back up your important files

Avoid downloading unknown apps or profiles

Check Settings → General → VPN & Device Management for unknown profiles

⚠️ About “someone still being inside”

In many cases, repeated login alerts happen because:

A device is still signed into your Apple ID

Old passwords are saved somewhere

Someone is repeatedly attempting login

Once the password is changed and trusted devices are reviewed, access attempts usually stop.

🛠️ If you still believe the account is compromised

Contact Apple Support directly and request an account security review:

Apple Support

They can help verify whether there are unauthorized changes or suspicious activity linked to your Apple ID.

Hello, Lina88!

Welcome to the Apple Support Community! Here we are users helping other users by sharing solutions and experiences.

📌 Just one note:

this is the Portuguese Apple Support Community.

You can continue here if Portuguese is okay for you, but if you prefer support in English, you may get better visibility in the English community:

⚠️ About your situation:

if you believe someone is accessing your Mac, Apple ID, files, or bank information, treat this as a security issue and act carefully.

First, avoid posting here:

  • personal data
  • passwords
  • banking information
  • screenshots with sensitive details
  • names, addresses or private account information

This is a public user community.

📌 Since your MacBook Air is running OS X 10.11, that system is very old and may not have current security protections or compatibility with modern services.

I would focus on these steps:

  • disconnect the Mac from the internet if you think someone is actively accessing it
  • change your Apple Account password from a trusted device
  • change the password of the email linked to your Apple Account
  • review trusted devices connected to your Apple Account
  • enable or confirm two-factor authentication
  • contact your bank immediately if there was any banking issue
  • avoid clicking links received by email, SMS or messages
  • make a backup of important files to an external drive if it is safe to do so

📌 Apple Account page:

📌 Apple Account recovery:

📌 Official Apple article about compromised Apple Account:

⚠️ If you think the Mac itself is compromised, one of the safest approaches is usually:

  • back up only important personal files
  • erase the Mac
  • reinstall macOS
  • do not restore unknown apps or suspicious files
  • update to the newest macOS version supported by that Mac
  • then change passwords again from the clean system

📌 Also check if there are unknown items in:

  • System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
  • System Preferences > Sharing
  • Applications folder
  • browser extensions

⚠️ If banking information was affected, Apple Community cannot investigate that. You should contact the bank directly, block cards if necessary, and follow their fraud/security process.

📌 Since you said Apple Support is already trying to help you, I would keep working with them directly and provide clear facts:

  • what device is affected
  • what account is affected
  • what files disappeared
  • what alerts appeared
  • what steps you already tried
  • whether the Mac is still connected to the internet

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Felipe Lapolli
