Looking for an easy solution plugin to re-create depth of field/aperture control that native cam cinematic setting offers, but for video imported from 3rd party apps like Filmic. There appeared to be something available a few years ago from Pixel Film Studios called ProDOF that looked like just what I was looking for, but does not seem to be available any more.
Any suggestions are welcome.

PFS also has a poor reputation for customer service and any time there is a major system or hardware update, their plugins take a long time to be made compatible.
...and yet — you can find them listed in the Final Cut Pro Ecosystem.
I would like to research information about the company instead of just buying it because a YouTuber introduces it. It's scary to be part of something bad without knowing it.

But try the "Focus Blur" that comes with FCPX first.

What issues are you having with PFS? I hear that problems are more likely to occur when you update the OS or FCP.
