"Filter" error using usb printer Epson Aculaser c3800 since 5 day after the last updates to mojave 10.14.3 - no printout possible independent of apps.
Any ideas to resolve that situation.? The printer was expensive, 12 years old, fast and duplex capable.

You are right. But 12 years is a long time. Not many printers work longer than 5 years. You can solve the problem with an old system. Use High Sierra or older.

Der Drucker ist BJ 2006. Ein Wunder dass er bis zuletzt noch erkannt wurde. Im Prinzip gilt die Regel, alter Drucker mit alten Rechner und System verwenden. Kein Hersteller will und kann nicht exists wenn ein Drucker unendlich genutzt wird. Der Hersteller macht nur einmal beim Verkauf Gewinn. Bei Toner und Tinte nicht mehr, die gibts günstig bei Drittanbieter.

Your answer is a capitulation and the support of the concept of scheduled outage (obsolescence). A good sustainable strategie of epson as well as apple to the benefit of all parties would be a strategie of repair and component replacing. Not for free. Of course. The obligation to open the code and the engineering details would be helpfull to improve the products as well as to found repair and recycling centers to hire technicians.
To throw away a 12 year old fine printer (1500 $) is silly and unacceptable. Sincerely Christoph
