USB-C and iPhones...?

After the iPad Pro was released with USB-C connector I was full of hope that future iPhones will follow suit. Particularly, when the model was named iPhone Pro. But no.

Is anyone else equally annoyed by the poor ligthning connectors? I have spent plenty of money in replacing faulty connectors and it became a recurring theme to purchase lightning connectors & cables.

I decided for myself to wait for 2020 phones to see if Apple makes a move towards USB-C. I already decieded against a purchase of a new phone (first time in years) due to the lack of USB-C. I might have to jump ship and consider an Android.
