I am administrator on the family Mac (Catalina) and have set-up my two kids as standard users. The photo libraries are under my user account, and I have given my kids read-only access. However, when we try to open the library under their user accounts, it gives an error message that they have no permission. Any idea how I can ensure they have read access only? Thanks.

Photos libraries cannot be shared between users, unless you store them on an external volume or in a separate partition, where you can enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. If you want to use a photo library, even for reading, you need read/write access. Read access alone does not suffice.
