Audio Delay when using HomePod mini with Mac mini

Sure, the Apple ecosystem is great but not perfect. The HomePod uses AirPlay 2 for its communication. Sadly this means that delays will accrue. You can use the HomePod in combination with an Apple TV as a „real-time“ audio output for movies and shows. This feature is not (yet) unlocked for Mac. It would be great, never the less.

The USB-C port can only be used for powering the device. No Data can be transmitted between the device and the Mac, by a normal normal user. Apple Care employees may be able to use this cable for transmitting data.

I highly recommend, you send your feedback to Apple. I also did that. I understand you wish and I also like the idea, but a great idea is „useless“, in a community, that is only reaching normal users like you and me, that are not a part of the Apple development team: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Benutzt du den HomePod als eine Art Desktop Lautsprecher für deinen Mac? Dafür ist dieser nämlich nicht ausgelegt.
