USB Type A ports not working on Satechi Hub with Mac Mini M1

I use a Satechi hub "Multiport V2" on my Mac mini M1 (latest Big Sur version 11.7.8). The hub is connected via USB C to my Mac mini and it worked fine. But recently, all USB Type A ports on the hub stopped working. None of the devices such as my iPhone can connect, not even a USB cable mouse. Strange: Everything else on the hub (e.g. display port and card-reader etc) is still working and the hub is shown in the system information. Today, Satechi has sent me a brandnew hub of the same type, but the problem still persists.

Additional info: When I connect the different devices to the USB A Port directly on the Mac mini M1, they all connect. And for this Satechi hub to function, there is no need to install any additional software. Satechi products are certified by Apple and even available in the Apple Store.

I would be very thankful for any suggestions, how to solve this problem.

Hey GeorgHe,

you could start the M1 mini once in safe mode,

Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Safe Mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software at startup, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also performs a basic check of your boot volume, similar to using the "First Aid" feature in Disk Utility. It also clears some system caches, including font caches and kernel cache, which are automatically rebuilt if necessary,

and see if the A USB's on your Satechi hub are working properly in this mode.

cheers
