Mac doesn't open Files and Apps

Ladies and gentlemen

I'm having problems with Apple M2 8GB, serial number *** mac OS Ventura 13.5.2.

Programs: Finder, go. to programs. Programs in the window cannot be opened, this only works via the toolbar.

Files, downloads, photos do not open the preview when clicked.

I'm also looking for software to repair the photos. Put the photos back into the compatible format.

I transferred everything from the iMac, which was outdated, to the Macbook, but the photos and some documents appeared to be in incorrect formats.

Also the photos and documents in Googledrive and iCloud

I can no longer print or move.

Friendly greetings

Markus Haldimann

Hi Markus,

We appreciate your post in the Apple Support Community. For your Mac issues:

  1. Reset NVRAM and clear Finder’s preference files. Try resetting the NVRAM: Shut down your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys: Option, Command, P, and R. Release after about 20 seconds. Clear the Finder’s preference files. Go to the folder ~/Library/Preferences/ (you can use Command + Shift + G in Finder and paste the path). Move the file named com.apple.finder.plist to the desktop and restart your Mac. If the problem is resolved, you can delete the file on the desktop. Otherwise, move it back to restore your settings.
  2. For file previewing, reset Quick Look via Terminal. t's possible the Quick Look service is having issues. Open Terminal and enter: qlmanage -r and press Enter. This resets the Quick Look service.
  3. For photo issues, consider using "Stellar Repair for Photo."
  4. Check you're logged into the correct accounts for Google Drive & iCloud.
  5. Ensure all software and printer drivers are updated. Sometimes, OS updates can resolve compatibility and other issues. Visit the printer manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.

If problems persist, consult Apple Support.
