Hello!
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Community. This sounds like a serious issue, but let's try to work through it:
I. Before doing anything else, back up any data you can still access. Use Time Machine or copy it to an external hard drive.
II. You could try manually renaming the folder back to its original name. Here's how:
- Restart your Mac in Safe Mode (hold down the Shift key while rebooting).
- Once in Safe Mode, navigate to your User folder (/Users/) and try renaming the folder back to its original name.
- Reboot the computer normally.
III. Go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups. Make sure your account is pointing to the right folder in the “Advanced Options”.
IV. If you have a Time Machine backup or another type of backup from before the name change, consider restoring from that.
V. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be time to seek help from a professional, especially if your data is crucial.
Remember for the future: changing the name of system folders, especially user folders, can lead to complications. Always make sure to back up data before making significant changes to your system.
Btw. We have a community for English here: discussions.apple.com. Since you’ve posted in English, we’d be happy to see you join us there.
Thanks!
