Is there any way to fix the bug regarding Touch ID not working reliably for logging in after updating to Sequoia 15.7.1 ?

As many others, I'm having trouble logging in to my mac (2019 MBP 16" in my case) using Touch ID after waking the MacBook up from sleep:

Not always, but oftentimes, the option to use Touch ID for logging in is not available (one is asked to enter the password instead) - at least not right away (meaning if one waits around 5-10 seconds, it suddenly becomes an option - log in via password or Touch ID is both possible).

Is there any way to fix this?

I tried disabling / re-anabling Use Touch ID to unlock your mac in settings, also rebooting the laptop afterwards, to no avail.
