Misleading Subscription Charge Despite Advertised 14-Day Free Trial
I downloaded Coconote approximately two weeks ago. The app clearly advertised a 14-day free trial with “no payment due now”, which indicated that no charge would be made until the trial period ended. I subscribed solely for the purpose of trying the app during this free trial. However, the full annual fee (€69.99) was charged immediately upon subscription, and no free trial was actually provided.
I have submitted refund requests to Apple twice, both of which were rejected. This outcome is very concerning, as this situation involves a misleading and deceptive subscription flow. The advertised payment conditions do not match the actual billing. I then reported this issue as fraud. The only response I received was that my report would be treated as general feedback and that I should expect no reply.
I have a screenshot showing the “14-day free trial” and “no payment due now” messaging presented at the time of subscription. I also confirm that I stopped using the app immediately after discovering the charge.
I would like to understand how Apple intends to proceed in this situation. After being rejected twice and charged for a subscription obtained under misleading terms, it is unclear to me how Apple is protecting users from deceptive subscription practices on its platform.
