After updating to iOS14, all of my shortcuts that I use making Siri ask me a questions and wait for a response, instead of making the question it says: "What should stringAnswer be?" Or numberAnswer if it's expecting a number.
I tried to reboot the phone, change Siri's language, create a new shortcut from scratch and it keeps asking for stringanswer.
Did anybody encounter this problem too and managed to fix it?

Ok, so this is what I made to solve it:
- Change Siri’s language to English (I’m Spanish)
- Change system language to English.
- Restart iPhone
- Check that the shortcut says what it has to say
- Change Siri’s and system’s language back to Spanish
- Restart iPhone
- Voilà

I have he same bug (also with the phone language set to Spanish), but unfortunately your solution didn't work for me. The shortcut question works fine in English, but when going back to Spanish the problem persists. I tried on iOS 14.0.1.
Judging by the date of your message, you probably tried on iOS14.0.0. Have you checked in iOS 14.0.1?
I meant to report the bug as well but I couldn't find the option to select iOS 14 in the drop down menu. Let's hope Apple fixes it, because it's quite annoying and I have several shortcuts with this option.
Same for me as mentioned lmendo: it works in English but keeps reading out loud default question “¿cuál?” for menus and also a weird text when asking for inputs.
I’m also using 14.0.1 and I remember this working fine in iOS 13.

Yes, I did that in 14.0.0 but later I realised that after a new restart, the bug was still there... Haven't tried in 14.0.1 yet, but please, share your comments if you do so.

Yes, I had to select 13.6 and then in the comments say that it's 14.0.1
Ok, I got it working too in Spanish but I had to skip the last restart. Please update your instructions because it was really helpful for me. Until we get this fixed that is the best we have.
The problem still exists in iOS 14.1 (I just updated today)
I've done some quick tests in iOS 14.2 and this seems to have been solved
I have the same problem. But my language is and always has been set to English!
It should be fixed in iOS 14.2. I had a conversation with a Reddit user who still had the same problem. Please ensure that you are using the “Ask for input” action and not “Dictate text”.
I have 14.2.1. I’ve tried changing the language settings and changing back. No bueno :-(
