Thanks Z_0x00,

As you have a Mac with Apple silicon, the way to enter to macOS Recovery is by holding the power button to load the Startup Options, but you need to completely power off first your Mac: Use macOS Recovery on a Mac with Apple silicon.

After that, you can try again to use the command csrutil enable on the app Terminal.

Hello Z_0x00,

May I ask what model of Mac do you have? Apple added additional security restrictions for disabling csrutil on Mac with Apple Silicon and in order to disable or enable you will need to do the follow:

  • You must shut down or power off completely your Mac and then press and hold the power button to load Startup Options. If you access into macOS Recovery without holding down the power button, you won't be able to disable the security policy until you shut down or restart your Mac.

  • Also, from macOS Monterey, you must start up your Mac from the copy of macOS Recovery that is paired to your startup disk. If you have multiple copies of macOS installed in your Mac you will need to start up in macOS Recovery, select Apple menu and then Startup Disk, to select the main one, probably called Macintosh HD, and then restart the Mac. Finally, try to starting up your Mac into macOS Recovery again.

Hope this helps you Z_0x00,

Greetings :)
