I don’t know what to do anymore and I’m asking for advice.
I recently purchased a brand-new iPhone from the official Apple website. I transferred all my data to it, made sure everything worked, and erased my old iPhone. I had no reason to expect any issues.
But just one month later, I woke up to find the phone completely dead — it had been charging overnight, but in the morning it was at 1% and then shut off entirely. It no longer turns on or responds to any cable or charger.
I went to my local Apple Store here in France. They diagnosed a hardware issue, possibly with the power module, and offered to replace the device. But they offered zero support for recovering my data.
This phone contains around 50,000 photos, including the last photos of my parents who passed away just two months ago. These memories are incredibly important to me.
I found a professional data recovery company that is willing to try and save the data — but they would need to open the phone and connect hardware to do so. Apple, however, won’t confirm whether my warranty will remain valid if I take this step. So right now, I’m stuck between losing everything or keeping a non-functioning €1800 phone.
I wrote an official letter to Apple — they never replied. They just redirected me to their general support website.
I’ve been a loyal Apple customer for 16 years, ever since the iPhone 3. I use only Apple devices and never had to contact support before — everything "just worked." I truly didn’t expect that when something finally did go wrong, Apple would offer no help at all and would leave me completely alone to deal with it.
I feel completely let down. I paid for a premium product, expecting premium service — and instead, I’m being told to just deal with it.
