LG 34WK95U-W not working with MacBookPro 2018 at full resolution 5K2K

I bought a LG34WK95U-W for my MacBookPro 2018. Before I bought the monitor I checked with LG support to find out if all compatibility troubles regarding this monitor are solved. They said YES and I got excited.

Unfortunately I have to report that the monitor is still not working at full resolution 5k2k.

I tested it with different MacBook Pro 2018 models as we all have the same computers at our company. It did not work with any of them.

All run on the latest macOS 10.14.6 and use Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB in combination with Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB. MacBook Pro 2018 (15-inch, 2018), 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7.

Firmware LG monitor: (3,02, 2.14) according to their OnScreen Control Software.

OnScreen Control Version: 3.52 (released October 2019)

LG blames Apple. Apple blames LG. Customer is left over. LG Support does not consider that they gave a wrong information in the beginning even though I have a email confirmation by LG Support that the problem of the LG 34WK95U-W with MacBook Pro 2018 is solved and that they recommend me to buy their product if I want to.

I really would like to know if LG or Apple will provide a fix for this issue?

I checked hundreds of forums and all I could find is that some people managed to get it running temporarily but there seems to be no stable solution.

Actually, I like the size and the monitor and would like to keep it.

Therefore: Is there anyone out there who could run LG 34WK95U-W together with the MacBookPro 2018 in 5k2k resolution as a stable environment?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I could't believe that apple has (until now) no solution for that problem. I also have the same Monitor LG 34WK95U-W, and I can only use the 3K resolution (3440x1440). If I use the (3840 x 2160) resolution, the entire monitor screen is not useable (the picture is compressed in vertical direction). I've also no chance to switch to the 5K Resolution.

Any other (none MAC) computers , can use 5K with the LG.

Update 9.10.2019: I upgraded to macOS Catalina 10.15. Same issues – LG 34WK95U-W is not working with MacBookPro 2018 at full resolution 5K2K. It even got worse: The colors are mismatched and the screens starts flickering.
