Hallo,
bisher war es immer möglich sein Hintergrundbild beim Login Bildschirm zu ändern, nun mit Catalina ist dies anscheinend nicht mehr möglich beziehungsweise nicht mehr so wie gewohnt.
Gibt es dennoch einen Weg ein anderes Hintergrundbild einzustellen?
MacBook Air
Diese Anleitung fand ich im Netz, habe ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert:

Find the wallpaper/picture you want to use as the new login wallpaper, copy it to an easy to find location (like the desktop), and rename it Catalina.heic
Boot into recovery mode by holding down Command R when booting the computer (hold down Command R until you see the Apple logo)
When in recovery mode, click on the top drop down menu "Utilities" and launch Terminal
In terminal, type the following command and press Return:
csrutil disable
This turns off System Integrity Protection
Restart your Mac
Launch Terminal and enter the following command:
sudo mount -t apfs -wu /dev/disk1s5 /Volumes
Replace disk1s5 with the identifier for your system partition (you can find this in Disk Utility by clicking Info with the partition selected, then looking next to BSD device node). You’ll need to enter your password.
In Terminal, enter the following command:
sudo mount -wu /; killall Finder
Using the Finder, navigate to Macintosh HD > System > Library->Desktop Pictures and right click (Command Click) to rename Catalina.heic to Catalina.orig.heic (be careful and make sure you pick the correct one, there are a lot of “Catalina” pictures/files).
Copy (drag) Catalina.heic from your desktop into Macintosh HD > System > Library->Desktop Pictures
Reboot – you should now see the new login wallpaper. SIP will be turned back on by default when you reboot so you don’t need to re-enable it. You can confirm this by going to Macintosh HD > System > Library->Desktop Pictures after the reboot and confirming you cannot rename any files.

Ich habe das alles für Catalina noch mal gründlich und ausführlich (vor allem auch auf Deutsch) zusammengeschrieben – kompliziert ist der Vorgang, aber mit der Beschreibung sollte das, wer es auf sich nehmen will, auch schaffen:

Mit OS Catalina liegt das Bild für den Login ("Catalina.heic") in einem anderen Verzeichnis - und zwar hier:
Macintosh HD/System/Library/Desktop Pictures
Da es sich aber um ein System-Verzeichnis handelt, gibt es hier nur Leserechte. Wie man in diesem Verzeichnis auch schreiben kann, funktioniert offenbar nur im Recovery Mode. In diesem Modus muss man per Terminal das gewünschte Login Bild manuell hineinkopieren.
Hast du VileFault aktiviert?
Dann hat das System zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch keinen Zugriff auf deine persönlichen Hintergrundbilder.
Du musst schon etwas sorgfältiger hinsehen, wie das neue Verzeichnis heißt.
Mojave: Macintosh HD/Library/Desktop Pictures
Catalina: Macintosh HD/System/Library/Desktop Pictures
Ein eigenes Bild kann man aber nur als Schreibtisch-Hintergrundbild einstellen, wie schon zuvor erwähnt. Mir geht es aber um das Hintergrundbild beim Login... das funktioniert leider nicht mehr so wie es früher funktioniert hat.
Hallo, zusammen wenn ich das schon lese was für ein Prozedere um ein Login-Bild zu ändern bei macOS Catalina.
Soll ich euch was sagen holt euch ein Windows PC/Laptop oder sonst was.
Nichts ist Komplizierter als macOS.
Systemeinstellungen - Schreibtisch und Bildschirmschoner - Bilder auswählen und:
Fertig!

Hallo ich habe die gleiche Frage und habe alles probiert, aber es funktioniert einfach nicht. @melala wenn du herausfindest wie das geht, kannst du mir bitte bescheid geben?
das fände ich auch prima zu wissen. Der Fels im Wasser ist etwas finster
Du kannst unter vielen tollen Hintergrundbilder dieser Insel auswählen!

Ja, das weiß ich ja, die Aufnahme hat trotzdem wenig Freundliches, in meinen Augen 👀
Missverständnis: es geht nicht um den Desktop/Schreibtisch, sondern um das Anmeldefenster. Eben das mit der Insel Catalina.
